Ingredients

  • 1 14-ounce baguette
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 4 cloves garlic finely grated
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 cup Parmesan finely grated; optional

Method

  1. Heat oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment.
  2. Slice the baguette lengthwise. Mix softened butter, garlic, parsley, and salt, then spread evenly over the cut sides.
  3. Bake cut-side up for 10 to 12 minutes, until hot and golden at the edges. For crispier tops, broil for 30 to 60 seconds while watching closely.
  4. Sprinkle with Parmesan if desired, slice, and serve warm.
